In an effort to support our youth players and coaches, each Laker Youth Basketball team is required to have a Team Manager.  This individual is a parent or family member of a player on each team and serves as a liaison between the team, its coach and the LYB.  Each team is expected to have a Team Manager in place by the end of the first team practice.

The Team Manager is in regular direct contact with their coach and the LYB Secretary and is asked to help with things such as:

  • Communicate weekly reminders of the coming week's game(s) and practice schedule.
  • Communicate any changes in game or practice schedule to the team.
  • Recruit volunteers as necessary (e.g. scoreboard, scorekeeper).
  • Assist with communicating important information between the LYB and the team.
  • Support team coach with tournaments as requested (i.e., sign-ups and money collection from the team).

In addition to Team Manager, volunteers are needed to keep the scorebook at each game and to operate the scoreboard at all league home games.
